UT San Antonio Online Summer Survival Guide

Summer semester offers several unique terms that operate as independent, mini-semesters.

Plan ahead! Review UT San Antonio Online summer course options before registration opens. Pay attention to course start and end dates, course prerequisites and check if books are required.

Align your summer course selection start and end dates with the corresponding summer term using the Summer Academic Calendar.

Students may enroll in no more than 15 credit hours during the entire summer, regardless of the combination of terms. There are also limitations to how many credit hours you can take during the various summer terms:

  • 3 credit hour maximum in a 3-week term
  • 4 credit hour maximum in a 4-week term
  • 6 credit hour maximum in a 5-week term
  • 9 credit hour maximum in an 8-week term
  • 12 credit hour maximum in a 10-week term

Note: Students on academic probation or academic warning may enroll in no more than 7 credit hours during the entire summer semester and students on probation may not enroll in a course offered in a term of fewer than five weeks.

If you are a current UT San Antonio student, you must submit a request for UT San Antonio Summer Financial Aid.

The priority deadline to request Summer Financial Aid is April 1. However, you can still submit your request past the priority deadline. Summer awards are based on need and remaining amounts from the fall and/or spring semesters.

**First time UT San Antonio students must submit a FAFSA prior to requesting summer financial aid
