Balancing work, school, a family, or other personal obligations makes it challenging to attend classes with rigid schedules. Our courses meet you where you are.
Course Formats
Online classes at UTSA are taught asynchronously, meaning they do not have designated meeting times.
Students can log in and complete their assignments at the times that are most convenient for them, as long they meet the due dates established by the professor. The professor will provide a syllabus at the beginning of the semester with all due dates so that students can plan their workloads accordingly.
How Online Classes Are Taught
Our online classes are taught through Canvas, the university’s Learning Management System (LMS).
Through Canvas, your instructors can post assignments, reading materials, and other helpful resources. As a student, you’ll be able to access these materials, upload assignments, and work collaboratively with your professors and peers through interactive tools like discussion boards.
UTSA Email
During your time as a Roadrunner, we’ll be emailing you important information that could pertain to financial aid and registration.
You’ll want to get in the habit of frequently checking this email for important updates. You can view your UTSA email address (formatted firstname.lastname@my.utsa.edu) by logging into your myUTSA Account, clicking on the circle icon with your initial on the top right of the page and selecting “View Profile.”
