
Dr. Rebecca Schroeder
Rebecca Schroeder, Ph.D. is the Associate Dean of University College at UTSA, where she also serves as an educator in Academic Introduction and Strategies (AIS), Multidisciplinary Studies, and Data Science. She teaches across disciplines, including Introduction to Data Science and Data Science for All, and is known for her interdisciplinary and student-centered approach.
A recipient of the 2021 Presidential Distinguished Teaching Award and the 2024 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA), Dr. Schroeder is deeply committed to student empowerment through skill-building for academic and professional success. She is a member of the GenAI Consortium and the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS) . Dr. Schroeder holds a B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
