Benefits of a Bilingual Education Graduate Certificate from UTSA Online

You’ll learn from professors who are bilingual or multilingual, with the majority being former K-12 educators. All professors in the program are actively researching projects related to bilingual or multilingual communities.

The Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies was one of UTSA’s founding divisions and has been operating since 1969.

Life can be hectic, but that shouldn’t stand in the way of your professional growth. Our 100% online platform allows you to learn at your own pace, anytime, and anywhere. You’ll have due dates each week, but you get to decide when to complete your coursework.

The department has been ranked No. 2 nationally in bilingual, multilingual, and multicultural education by Hispanic Outlook Magazine.

The College of Education and Human Development at UTSA has a special, grant-funded collaboration with four premier dual-language schools and works with many other local bilingual and dual-language campuses.

You’ll be able to apply the skills you learn about dual language teaching in any part of the world where 2 languages are being taught to children in PreK – 12th grade.

This certificate program would be great for you if you are:

  • A current certified bilingual teacher who wants to further develop and fully understand bilingual and dual-language teaching.
  • A current certified general education teacher who is bilingual but not yet certified in bilingual education and wants to begin preparation for your state exam in bilingual education (the Bilingual Education Supplemental in Texas).
  • An assistant principal or principal who leads a dual language or bilingual education campus and wants a stronger base in theories that support emergent bilingual children.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and influence the next generation!
