We have a lot of great free online resources for students so you can start building the life you deserve.

You probably know that studying online has a lot of great benefits. At UT San Antonio Online, you’ll take the same courses and learn from the same faculty as our in-person students. But you’ll have the flexibility you need to get your education around your schedule.

Do you prefer to study during the early morning hours? Or are you a night owl who works best after dinner and into the night?

You get to choose your own adventure with UT San Antonio Online. Study at a coffee shop, in your home office or even from the comfort of your couch. Whatever works best for you. You’ll have due dates each week, but you won’t have any class meeting times.

AI Essentials – Guidelines and Approaches for UTSA Students

The AI guidelines resource was developed collaboratively by a team of UT San Antonio students, faculty and staff. You’ll find tools and guidance aimed at developing knowledge and skills for the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI). With this < AI Essentials resource, you’ll be better prepared to use this technology responsibly, ethically and productively moving forward.

Tutoring Services

You can schedule an appointment to meet with the Tomás Rivera Tutoring Center on a walk-in basis for all subjects, including Biology, Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science. They even provide some after-hours appointments if you can’t make it during their posted hours.

TutorMe

As a member of the UT San Antonio community, you’ll have access to TutorMe. You can access this free online resource 24/7.

Writing Center

With UT San Antonio’s Writing Center, you’ll have access to online tutoring 7 days a week. You can learn how to make and attend an online tutoring appointment on this video.

Online Library Services

You’ll also have access to a host of online resources through UT San Antonio’s library. This includes access to digital textbooks, academic journals and more.

UT San Antonio Online also has a librarian to serve students like you. Librarians are available via chat to help you find the perfect resources or point you in the right direction.

The Digital Learning team provides you with the 24/7 support you may need as you take courses with UT San Antonio Online.

Tech Café

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is typically a paid service. However, you’ll have >free access as a UT San Antonio student!

LinkedIn Learning provides a variety of different certificates to add to your LinkedIn profile.

Microcredentials

As a Roadrunner, you can quickly expand your skillset with free microcredentials through UT San Antonio. But your learning isn’t limited to your time as a student. You’ll have access as an alum too.

These streamlined educational experiences offer a quick path to acquiring new competencies. You’ll get to earn certificates and badges from companies like IBM, Meta and Google that carry weight in the job market and in academia.

TimelyCare

TimelyCare is a mental health support service that offers a safe space for you to share your emotions and feelings without fear of judgement.

You’ll be able to talk to a trained mental health professional who can help you better understand how to manage the stress and anxiety that can come with life. This is a free service that’s available 24/7 for all UT San Antonio Online students. Learn more about TimelyCare here.

UT San Antonio Online Process

If you’re interested in applying to UT San Antonio Online we have a team of Enrollment Counselors who would love to help you. We know the process can seem intimidating, so you’ll have a dedicated counselor who can walk you through every step of the process.

After being admitted, you’ll follow the next steps for admitted students. This is a helpful list of items to reference as a newly admitted UT San Antonio Online student.

Before you can enroll in classes, you’ll need to complete UT San Antonio Online’s New Student Orientation. Once you’ve completed Orientation, you’ll meet with your academic advisor.

Our Online Advisors are going to be your greatest allies throughout your Roadrunner journey! They’ll work with you and advise you every semester to make sure you’re enrolled in the classes that best fit your needs.

Coursera is a free online resource where students can access courses in subjects ranging from computer science to biology to politics. They offer over 5,000 courses, as well as certificates, to help you in your career journey. They also collaborate with companies like Google and IBM. Those certificates will look great on your resume! Learn the difference between a certificate and a degree.

You’ll have access to multiple Coursera courses through the UT San Antonio Microcredentials page.

Grammarly

Grammarly offers free grammar, plagiarism and citation resources. Essay and general writing checkers will scan documents and text for errors and suggest edits. The free citation generator can help you write APA, MLA or Chicago citations for many sources including books, journal articles, and websites for both full citations and in-text citations.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy is similar to Coursera, and it provides resources like practice exercises and videos to help you get a better grasp on subjects ranging from mathematics to computer science. Subjects are laid out like lesson plans and include practice problems and quizzes so you can test your knowledge as you go.

freeCodeCamp

freeCodeCamp is a resource that provides courses for you to learn how to code for free. They provide certificates that focus on a variety of coding-related subjects. You can study JavaScript, Python, Front End Development and Data Visualization. They also offer free coding exercises to help you prepare for job interviews where they might be requested
